More from Michelle

Hi, I'm Michelle Springett... or referred to as the crazy paint lady!

For the majority of my life, I assisted small business owners with graphic design and marketing. I took a major detour into Funeral Directing and loved it! Connecting with grieving families during their darkest hours was a blessing although I couldn't shake the feeling of helplessness, knowing that their ongoing journey had to be navigated on their own.

This realisation led me to embark on training as a Life Coach, where I quickly discovered the challenge many people face in expressing their true emotions with words alone. Then I discovered Art Therapy.  I'd never heard of it before... Art Therapy revealed numerous ways in which our connection with Art can represent our feelings and emotions, offering a wonderful outlet for expression.

Each of my past 'jobs' have been a valuable part of my "work-experience," leading me to today. In 2019, I had the opportunity to pivot and embrace my authentic self as an Expressive Art Therapist. This transformative path has become a way of supporting myself and others in emotional well-being. By actively listening and understanding their needs, I empower individuals to flourish in areas that ignite their passion.

My journey has been one of self-discovery and growth, and I am honoured to utilise the power of Art to help others discover their own paths to their creativity and emotional well-being.

So far... my Amazing working experiences:

  • I've spent 15+ years as a graphic designer, creating and supporting women in business to shine.

  • Hosted community based women's networking group for five years, bringing women together to thrive professionally and personally.

  • Experienced years as a Funeral Director, navigating families through their darkest hours.

  • Made redundant numerous times during my early corporate career, teaching me the skill of a good pivot.

Achieved qualifications:

  • Dip & Adv. Diploma in Art Therapy.

  • Certified Life Coach.

  • Cert IV Graphic Designer.

And mostly I'm the proudest mum of two young adults.  I have enjoyed all these experiences and what they have brought to my life and am extremely grateful as they remind me to make everyday as rewarding as possible... and I couldn't do it without the support of my loving husband.
