Frequently Asked Questions

What is Expressive Art all about?

Expressive Art is a powerful modality that utilises the nonverbal language of art to foster personal growth, gain insights, and undergo transformation. It serves as a bridge between our inner world (thoughts, feelings, and perceptions) and the outer realities and experiences we encounter. This approach is rooted in the understanding that images have the ability to deepen self-awareness, enhance self-expression, and enrich our lives. Engaging in Expressive Art is not only a creative outlet but also an incredible support for our mental health.

Did you know that creative expression has been scientifically proven to have a positive impact on various aspects of health? It can enhance our physical, emotional, and cognitive functioning while significantly improving the overall quality of life. Furthermore, it offers a deeper sense of meaning and self-awareness. The benefits are truly remarkable!

Through a diverse range of creative activities such as drawing, painting, collage, colouring, sculpting, singing, and dancing, Expressive Art provides a platform to express and explore the psychological and emotional aspects underlying our artistic creations.

What if I don't consider myself artistic?

In Expressive Art, the focus is not on traditional artistic skills, but rather on tapping into the creative side of the brain to express any obstacles that may be hindering your path towards your ideal day. It's not about producing a picture-perfect masterpiece; in fact, the messier the art, the clearer the messages from your heart can become.

What does an Expressive Art Experience look like?

An Expressive Art Experience is where serious fun takes center stage. We embrace the joy and lightheartedness of the creative process while also creating space for deeper discussions about any personal issues that may arise. These issues can range from overcoming procrastination and perfectionism to building confidence in your creative endeavors. It's important to note that our focus is not solely on teaching you how to draw or paint, although we can incorporate those skills if desired. Instead, our primary goal is to empower you to express yourself authentically and discover your own unique artistic style, all while enjoying the company of friends, family, or colleagues in a fun and supportive environment.
